Difference Between PU Board and XPS Board

Another kind of board, namely polystyrene board, is also a kind of plastic foam board. It is also called benzene board and EPS board. Therefore, it is an energy-saving thermal insulation material often used in buildings.

The uses of the two foam plates are very similar, but what are the specific differences between them? The first thing to understand is their thermal insulation performance. If the thickness of EPS and XPS is the same, their thermal insulation performance is different. Relatively speaking, the thermal insulation performance of XPS will be better. Similarly, if they have the same thermal insulation effect, the thickness of XPS plate will be thinner. But one price, one goods, the price of XPS plate will be more expensive. In the actual decoration process, the heat storage function of the concrete itself is sufficient. If the external insulation layer is added, it can fully meet the national standards for building energy conservation. Therefore, both kinds of insulation plates can meet the needs of the building. It is OK to consider the budget in the selection process.

The second point to compare is their strength. This strength is either the other or the tensile strength of the plate. The strength of XPS plate is kept within the range of 200KPa and 250kPa, while the strength of EPS plate is below 100KPA. For some houses in coastal areas, the strength of roof is very important. Moreover, during the installation process, after the installation is completed, further reinforcement and auxiliary fixation are required.

In general, the strength of XPS board is relatively high, but the brittleness of EPS board is relatively large, so it is likely to crack after a wide range of pasting, and the pasting effect is not very good. Flexibility is also an important aspect of investigating the plate. If the flexibility of the plate is very good, you can bend several times during the detection process. This investigation is very similar to the ductility of waterproof materials. EPS has good flexibility.
