Performance comparison between PIR and PUR

1. Fire performance difference:
Polyurethane PUR foam: generally B3 grade, by adding flame retardants, it can reach B2 grade.
PIR foam: generally B2 grade, by adjusting the concentration of polyisocyanuric acid ring and other formula technology, it can reach B1 level.

2. Difference of thermal insulation performance:
Polyurethane PUR foam: the thermal conductivity is generally 0.022~0.026W/mK (25 degree C).
PIR foam: thermal conductivity can be as low as 0.019 W/mK (25 degree C).

3. Difference of unit weight:
Polyurethane PUR foam: generally 35~45kg/m ³, It can meet the relatively satisfactory strength requirements.
PIR foam: 45~55kg/ M ³, In order to meet the relatively satisfactory strength requirements.

4. Difference of temperature resistance range:
Polyurethane PUR foam: General -185 degree C~+110 degree C.
PIR foam: it can reach -196 degree C~+205 degree C.
Polyurethane pur sandwich plate: it is generally used continuously for a long time below + 85 ° C.
PIR sandwich plate (index index above 250): it is generally used continuously below + 150 ° C.

5. Difference in water absorption
Polyurethane PUR foam: General 2.5%~3.0%
PIR foam: up to 0.9%
Generally, grade B1 oxygen index ≥ 30%, grade B2 oxygen index ≥ 26%
